Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Truly a day to celebrate, as we found out yesterday Erik will be one of the 'Fighting Irish' at Sacred Heart Cathedral Prep come fall (the High School dear dad, coach Casey, taught and was athletic director at, in the 70's)! Congratulations Erik...we are proud of you!

Roman asks, "Are you wearing your green?"

(more likely, "Why do my owners dress me up like a Barbi doll?")

Joy

A Bridge Never Too Far

Wherever I go, there it is. I drive by or over it every day, and hardly see it most of the time (too caught up in my mercurial thoughts or running late, as usual). BUT, I can't help but be overwhelmed by the beauty of this bridge and its surroundings when I am hiking, biking or running by, over and around it. We start of at Ft. Mason, on to Ft. Point, bike over the bridge to Kirby Cove (shhh, one of our secret beaches), bike back and hike on down to Baker Beach and end up (at sunset) at Land's End. I will spare you my metaphorical musings on bridges, beauty and the meaning of life's destinations for the moment (haven't had enough coffee, yet).

Playing Tourist

Every once in a while I open my eyes to see the beauty that is around me. Yesterday was one of those picture perfect days in the Bay Area. Blossoms are in full bloom, the hills are a deep green, the water was like glass with a gentle roll to it...perfect. I've been spending a lot of time at the beach, and I can tell you that the Pacific is still freezing, but I was so tempted to jump in for a swim (it's been in the 70's, down right hot for this wimpy native). We also took a tour of the capital yesterday. Unfortunately, didn't get a chance to see the governator.
