12 hours ago. Sunrise. After a week of fog and overcast skies, Thursday yielded bright sun. Made getting up in the dark somewhat bearable.

12 minutes ago. Mr. Dog-ma needs to unplug by watching TV. Luckily for me, he fell asleep so I can enjoy the slow sunset in silence.

Tikka stands guard against pugs, chihuahuas and the neighborhood labradors who would mark
her Chinese Elm. This tree was planted when Erik was born and I love how it dominates our living room window. The leaves catch the morning and evening light and hummingbirds dance among the branches. I try to catch nature where I can, since I don't have a garden. Sigh. One day.
